The Climate and Disaster Resilience Fund was established as a response to the escalating risk of climate disasters, and focuses on risks and disasters associated with fire, flooding and drought. Envisaged as a partnership of key stakeholders in government, business, local communities, research institutions and NGOs, theCDRF seeks to support efforts to ensure that South Africans, particularly those in vulnerable communities, are better prepared for disasters arising from climate change and challenges relating to municipal capacity and spatial development.
