PLANNING SUPPORT
PROJECT MANAGEMENT SUPPORT
GreenBook Planning Support promotes the agenda of climate change adaptation planning in local government by raising awareness of climate risks and facilitating the mainstreaming of the GreenBook as a support system and information source. Planning support is offered by providing training, technical assistance, as well as data and maps to all spheres of government. GreenBook Planning Support is ongoing and supported by our partners. The support initiatives aims to build and further the climate change response agenda and inform strategy and planning in district and local municipalities. Further, it ensures access to reliable and credible climate risk and adaptation information and facilitates the mainstreaming of the GreenBook into local government planning. Resources for local governments who have received support are found below under their respective provinces. The components of planning support include:
Climate Risk Profile Report
Offers a detailed document version of the GreenBook Risk Profile Tool to increase access and use of the relevant information.
The report identifies and prioritises climate risks and vulnerabilities.
Climate Adaptation Plan
The Adaptation Plan identifies and prioritises interventions and responses to climate change impacts.
It guides and enables the mainstreaming of climate change response, particularly adaptation within local planning.
Maps & Data Package
A complete GreenBook data package is provided with maps used in the Climate Risk Profile Report.
The data package can be used to inform planning processes.
Training
Builds capacity in all spheres of government to understand local climate risks, the need to adapt, and how to mainstream the GreenBook data, insights, and information into local plans, instruments and processes.
